Neighborhood Developers Making a Difference with Decorative Signage

Picture the most basic, standard, bargain basement street signage option available. It is, essentially, the stop sign, speed limit sign, or the street name sign hoisted in place on a commodity steel post. Whether green, silver, or black, these U-channel posts with the spine of pre-punched holes meet the minimum requirements for traffic signage but offer little in the way of a finished aesthetic.

Decorative signage, on the other hand, meets municipal requirements and builds the character of a streetscape, neighborhood, or commercial development. Instead of rusting steel channels underneath every sign, the black fluted or smooth round decorative posts elevate the look and feel of the outdoor space. It is a detail that leading developers are using to craft the identity of their latest residential or commercial projects and they know it makes a difference.

The response from our citizens and businesses has been overwhelmingly positive. Simply put, everyone loves the elegant and classy look of our new street signs. It was a ‘home run’ project,” said Suzanne Brooke from the Heath Office of Economic Development and the Health Municipal Benefits Corporation.
